Webinar "Effective Legal Representation of Child Victims: What Every Lawyer Should Know About the Impact of Trauma."

This webinar is the first in a three-part series designed to enhance the ability of attorneys to provide effective legal representation of child victims regarding their rights in criminal cases. NCVLI attorneys and mental health experts will co-present the webinar series.

The first session includes an overview of effective representation of child victims, as well as the neurobiology of trauma and its unique impact on children. Building on these lessons, presenters will preview some strategies to help facilitate effective communication with victim clients who are children.

The second session in the series will address concrete strategies for communicating with and representing child victims, and the third discussion will provide an opportunity to collaborate and share ideas about how to represent child victims more effectively. More information on these sessions is coming soon.

Our next quarterly Crime Victims' Compensation Program (CVCP) training and Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) training is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Please see the attached agenda.

The free trainings are held at the Crime Victims' Services Division in Salem at 4035 12th St Cutoff SE, 97302. We do ask those attending from the same agency/program to carpool due to limited parking.

For those interested in becoming ACP Application Assistants, please note there is a requirement of at least 40 hours of DV and/or SA training.
