CAMI MDT 2015-17 Grant Q6 Financial Reports Due January 31, 2017


Hello CAMI MDT Members!

CAMI MDT Grant Applications will be released in E-Grants February 13, 2017.  While each MDT designates only one or two people to complete the application forms in E-Grants, the MDT as a whole is the applicant. As such, the MDT as a whole is expected to participate in development of the application content, including the MDT's child abuse intervention plan, key protocols, goals for the biennium, and budget.

**Attendance is required at one of these teleconferences for: the individual who is primarily responsible for completing the application and two additional MDT members designated by the County's CAMI MDT Chair.

Attendance is optional for all other MDT members.

This 3 1/2 day, comprehensive training teaches the Oregon Interviewing Guidelines Forensic Interview Structure, which is designed to gather the greatest amount of reliable information in a child-sensitive, developmentally-appropriate, and legally-defensible manner. The Oregon Child Forensic Interview Training is evidence-based, supported by current research, and approved by the National Children's Alliance to meet the Forensic Interview Training Standards. This training is typically attended by Center-Based Child Forensic Interviewers, Law Enforcement, and DHS professionals. Not sure if this training is appropriate for you? This 90 minute webinar is a continuation of the Uniform Guidance Financial Management Requirements workshop offered at DOJ CVSD's Director's Day training in October 2016. The speaker, Kay Sohl, will explore key topics beyond the issues of administrative and direct costs.  The webinar will dive into the challenges around:
New procurement requirements-the policies and procedures that must guide nonprofit purchases of goods and services;
Internal controls- strategies to evaluate your current controls and spot weaknesses before your auditors dig into problem areas;

Time Keeping- making sure y our systems provide the documentation you need to support charging personnel costs to funding agreement; and

Overall financial health-steps to identify problems and strategies to increase your nonprofit's sustainability.

This webinar is intended for  DOJ CVSD and DHS grantees who are recipients of Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), STOP Formula Grant/Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)  and Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) funding Kay Sohl is a Nonprofit Financial Management Consultant who brings over 30 years successful experience providing consulting, training, and facilitation for nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and corporate community engagement programs. Ms. Sohl has provided consultation and training for boards of directors and management of over 5,000 nonprofit organizations. Ms. Sohl co-founded and served as Executive Director of TACS (now known as NAO- the Nonprofit Association of Oregon), the Northwest's largest resource for nonprofit capacity building assistance.  She is co-author of the Oregon Nonprofit Corporation Handbook. Title:  Paralegal
Status: Part-time; Temporary; VRLC Oregon office
Under the supervision of VRLC staff attorneys, the paralegal will provide support to immigrant victims of sexual assault. The paralegal will be the first point of contact for immigration clients and will help two staff attorneys prepare applications for various forms of immigration relief. The paralegal will also conduct client intakes, translate client documents, and assist in other administrative tasks.

Title: VRLC Staff Attorney (VOCA Grant Funded)
Status: Full-time; VRLC Oregon office
Description:
The Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) is a nonprofit law center that provides free, holistic legal services to adult and minor sexual assault survivors in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties, Oregon; to transgender survivors statewide; and to sexual assault victims throughout Massachusetts. The VRLC also provides national training, mentorship, tools, research, and resources for lawyers, advocates, and other professionals on the legal needs of rape and sexual assault victims. The full-time VOCA-funded staff attorney is a Portland, OR, based position.  The attorney will be responsible for providing legal assistance to adult and minor sexual assault survivors; helping to recruit, train, and mentor lawyers and law students; and collaborate effectively with grant and community partners.

The Clackamas County District Attorney's Office - Victim Assistance Program is accepting applications for a prosecution-based Victim Advocate. This position is a limited duration, part time (30 hours/week) VOCA Grant funded position to work with victims of sexual assault, primarily victims who have been victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and adults who are victims of sex and labor trafficking. We are looking for applicants with an interest in becoming part of a progressive team and who has a passion to assist victims of crime in restoring a sense of normalcy back into their lives while living in an abuse-free environment.
This position will work directly with the public, law enforcement and prosecutors. This position will be responsible for providing Victim Rights notification, crisis intervention, participation in undercover sting operations with law enforcement to provide immediate services to identified victims, call out response, court accompaniment, assistance with restitution and Crime Victim Compensation claims, ongoing criminal case status updates, safety planning including assistance with Protective Order applications and community referrals for counseling and basic needs, meeting attendance with local Human Trafficking Taskforces and database entry with periodic case updates to Program Manager. As an employee of Clackamas County, under the jurisdiction of the District Attorney's Office, this position requires mandatory reporting of abuse or suspected abuse of children, the elderly and of vulnerable populations to law enforcement.

Work with Women space team to provide a safe and healthy environment for all personnel and participants.
