[OMS_MANAGERS] Press Release for Strong Towns Presentation in Newberg/Independence

There will be a series of presentations in W. Oregon featuring Charles Marohn, president of Strong Towns, a national nonprofit working to strengthen financial resilience in America's towns and cities. Two of the presentations are sponsored by DLCD (Independence and Newberg). Shawn Irvine, with the City of Independence, asked me to share the press release (attached) and to invite others who are interested to attend (details below).

Independence Activities

*        Date: October 4th.

*        10:30am: Arrive at Independence, OR. Walking tour with Shawn or designee. Location: Independence City Hall - Civic Center area: https://goo.gl/maps/FXomXyU6yGz. Meet in Lobby. Audience: Public and will invite other small towns mains street activists.

*        12:00pm: Brown bag lunch: Topic: Examples of how smaller towns are making smart design decisions and how towns like Independence can build on their own success. Session will include lots of Q&A - 30 min lecture, 30 min Q&A. Location: 1st floor Event Center: Independence City Hall. Audience: TBD
