[Prep] PREP Data Sharing Question

Hi Katherine! I am the PREP research analyst for Oregon and I just wanted to share a few of the things that we have done since 2012 to disseminate participant data to our sub-awardees! I have attached examples of each.

Please keep in mind that in addition to the federal performance measures asked on participant entry and exit surveys, we also have added our own indicators to the end of the survey (as approved by our project officer) to provide additional insight to the experiences of the youth we serve.

1.      County-level reports: Every summer, we provide county-level reports for the prior grant year's participant data. This data is used to inform county-level government, school districts and parents about Cuidate! The primary focus of these county-level reports is to showcase participant data from entry to exit.

2.      State-level reports: We do the same thing as we do for county-level report, just with all of the data aggregated.

3.      Stats-at-a-glance: We provide these to our sub-awardees when we conduct our annual site visits. We use the stats-at-a-glance sheet to showcase current grant year data.

4.      Presentations: We have used participant data to present at several presentations around Oregon, primarily examining the Positive Youth Development benchmark and sexual health indicators.

Currently, we are in the process of developing a five-year report to our sub-awardees. We will be working with our sub-awardees to see what they would like to see in this report. I will be happy to provide examples once we have completed that. We anticipate this will be complete in the fall.

In Oregon, we are proud of our close collaboration with sub-awardees with a focus on providing them with quality data and technical assistance to illustrate the amazing work that they do in their communities. I am always happy to schedule a time to discuss this with interested parties or provide additional examples with you all.

Idaho is in the beginning stages of looking at ways to share back some of the PREP data we have been collecting with subawardees and stakeholders. This may take the form of a one-page data visualization, or similar data dashboard. However, we're just exploring ideas and options at this point.
